Your Permanent Resident (PR) card is the official document used by Canadian permanent residents to demonstrate their status when travelling to Canada on a commercial vehicle.
If your PR card is expiring or has already expired, you may need to apply for a new card. If you are outside Canada without a valid PR card, you may instead need a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) to return to Canada by commercial transportation.
